Position Title:  CTAE Director/Teacher

Location:  Thomasville High / Scholars Academy                         

Reports to:  Principal                                           

 

Primary Function: Provides leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Career, Technical and Agriculture Education program.

 

 

Requirements: 

  •  Educational Level:  Master’s Degree
  •  Certification/Licensing: Valid Georgia Educational Leadership Certificate or Vocational Director Certificate; Valid GA Teacher’s Certificate 
  • Experience3 years teaching experience at secondary level, building or district leadership and/or CTAE experience preferred
  •  Proficiency Skills:  Written and oral communication skills, student management, supervisory and leadership skills.  Ability to employ a variety of instructional strategies that connect the curriculum to the learners.   Ability to deal with multiple tasks, computer competence, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Personal Skills:  Pleasant personality, cooperative attitude, physical skills and stamina to perform essential duties.

 

GENERAL:

CTAE / Teaching Duties:

14.Prepares annual application for state/federal funds and prepares all necessary reports to Georgia State Department of Education; projects budget needs and monitors the use of allocated CTAE Funds.

15. Coordinates the implementation of all SACS, Georgia Standards, and State and Federal regulations related to the CTAE program; participates in the overall evaluation of the Career, Technical and Agriculture (CTAE) program.

16. Attends meetings and conferences pertaining to the state approved CTAE curriculum, classroom instruction, and or student achievement. 

17. Works cooperatively with the Purchasing/Finance Department in developing and evaluating bid specifications/awards and finalizes the purchasing process for CTAE furniture and equipment; reviews plans and specifications for CTAE programs in new or renovated facilities and assists in the maintenance and operation of computer/equipment in the CTAE programs’ lab.

18. Assists with the development and submission of the Consolidated Application for CTAE. 

19. Coordinates the system level advisory council for Career, Technical and Agricultural Education; organizes and monitors Industry Certification process for CTAE program and coordinates test administration of GA DOE End of Pathway Assessments (EOPAs).

20. Prepares and presents reports as required or requested by the Principal, Superintendent and/or Board of Education.

21. Assist with supervision of all instructional personnel in the CTAE department.

22. Performs other functions and duties as assigned.
